Why legacy docs
These FILMS preserve the stories we hold before they’re gone. They’re cinematic heirlooms meant to be passed down to kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and beyond.
As the son of an older father and filmmaker, I planned to film a documentary of my father. I wanted to preserve a whole lifetime of stories and give him a chance to see his life portrayed in film. But life kept getting in the way.
There always seemed to be more time — until there wasn’t.
In the fall of 202,3 my father was diagnosed with cancer. He declined so rapidly that I never had the chance to interview him. In losing him, we lost a lifetime of stories and the connection to our family’s past. Losing my dad’s stories made me realize how valuable they were.
Now I’m honored to offer my skills as a filmmaker to help preserve and celebrate the stories of older generations so the stories they hold can be passed on and their lives can be remembered.
